Texas Persimmon is a small ornamental tree with edible fruit and attractive exfoliating bark. It is heat and drought tolerant, is slow growing, and fits well in smaller spaces. It needs good drainage but is not otherwise finicky, and it can serve as an alternative to Yaupon Holly. Wildlife enjoy the fruit of this Texas native plant.
